Antioxidant 802 is a phenolic co-antioxidant used to enhance long-term thermal stability (LTTS) in polymers. This compound is designed based on Dioctadecyl 3,3'-Thiodipropionate and plays an effective role in preventing thermal and oxidative degradation during the production and consumption process.
It is used as a general thermal stabilizer, along with primary phenolic antioxidants and UV absorbers, and significantly improves the chemical stability of the polymer through a synergistic effect.
Antioxidant 802 Features
• Thioester structure with high antioxidant performance
• High melting point and low volatility
• Resistance to degradation caused by heat and oxygen
• Approval for use in food contact applications
Applications:
• Polymers requiring long-term thermal stability
• Polyethylene (PE) power cables
• XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) cables
• HDPE pipes
• Polypropylene (PP)
• Polyolefins used in automotive engines
• Styrene homopolymers and copolymers (e.g. PS and ABS)
• Also used in lubricating oils as an antioxidant additive.
