Fitting Stabilizer

Fitting Stabilizer

Item No PFS 840
SPECIFICATION

Calcium zinc stabilizer for PVC fittings, also known as Ca/Zn heat stabilizer, is a lead-free additive used in the formulation of PVC pipe fittings. During extrusion and injection molding, at roughly 160 to 200 °C, PVC degrades quickly by releasing hydrogen chloride gas and turns yellow or brown. This stabilizer neutralizes the acid and replaces unstable chlorine atoms, which prevents the material from breaking down. Our product combines calcium and zinc soaps with co-stabilizers and lubricants, and is suitable for producing elbows, tees, reducers, manifolds and end caps. Most PVC fittings are white or gray, although green, blue and yellow versions also exist. These colors have no fixed meaning and depend on the manufacturer and the application. Even so, white and gray are most common in building plumbing, while green is typically used for sewage and drainage systems.

Key advantages of this stabilizer include high thermal stability during processing, uniform melt flow and good color retention. Because it contains no lead or cadmium, it meets health and environmental requirements and is a suitable choice for drinking water fittings. Fittings produced with it have a smooth, glossy, stain-free surface and better resistance to sunlight and weathering. Consistent batch quality also reduces production waste and makes machine setup easier.

This product is used in PVC fitting factories and workshops for building plumbing, municipal water supply, sewage collection and drainage (DWV), agricultural irrigation and industrial installations. Fittings installed outdoors under direct sunlight benefit the most from this stabilizer. For orders, technical advice and help choosing the right grade for your production line, contact us.
