SPECIFICATION

Terephthalic Acid (TPA) is a white crystalline organic compound belonging to the family of aromatic dicarboxylic acids. It is one of the most important raw materials in the polymer industry due to its high purity, excellent chemical stability, and outstanding reactivity. TPA is primarily used in the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), two of the world's most widely used engineering and packaging polymers.

By reacting with monoethylene glycol (MEG), Terephthalic Acid forms PET, a polymer known for its high strength, light weight, transparency, and excellent chemical resistance. PET is widely used in the manufacture of beverage bottles, food containers, plastic films, and various food-grade packaging materials. TPA is also an essential raw material for polyester fibers, which offer excellent wear resistance, dimensional stability, durability, and wrinkle resistance, making them ideal for apparel, home textiles, carpets, curtains, bedding, and industrial fabrics.

In addition to PET production, TPA is widely used in manufacturing engineering plastics such as polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT), and other high-performance polyesters. These materials provide excellent mechanical strength, heat resistance, dimensional stability, and electrical insulation, making them suitable for automotive components, electrical and electronic parts, household appliances, and industrial equipment.

Terephthalic Acid is also an important raw material for the production of saturated polyester resins, alkyd resins, powder coatings, industrial paints, and adhesives. It enhances hardness, adhesion, corrosion resistance, weather resistance, and chemical resistance, improving the overall performance and durability of finished products.

Furthermore, TPA is used in the production of specialty chemicals, chemical intermediates, composite materials, insulation materials, and various industrial additives. It also plays an important role in modern PET chemical recycling technologies, where waste PET can be converted back into Terephthalic Acid and monoethylene glycol for reuse in the manufacture of new polymers, supporting sustainability and the circular economy.
